Pump House Gallery Wayfinding

I was commissioned to design a new wayfinding solution for the Pump House Gallery in Battersea Park, London. My project consisted of the design, project management and manufacture of 12 signs and their locations.

The signs are designed to be simultaneously eye-catching and sympathetic to the Victorian style of the park. They use a subtle moiré effect produced by interference between the two red perforated aluminium layers to flicker as you walk past.

The typeface matched the gallery's visual identity and the introduction of a Pump House icon gives an instant visual reference. Being double-sided, the signs can be recognised from almost any angle.
